indivividual with severe ranal impairment

Mechanism of action
bisphosphates decrease osteoclastic bone reabsorbtion via several mechanisms.
inhibitation of cholesterol biosynthetic pathway.
increase in osteoclastic apostosis
inhibitation of the osteoclastic proton pump for dissolution of hydroyapatite
Side effect
Diarrhea
musculoskeletal pain
abdominal pain
Indications
decrease risk of bone fracture
treating postmenopausal osteoporisis
prevention of postmenopausal osteoporis
increase bone mass

Route of administration
orallly active agents for osteoporosis can be dosed daily or once weekly orally.
administered with 6 to 8 ounces of plain water at least 30 minutes before eating breakfast
