Prevent further infection by disposing fomities hygienically, preferably by inceneration

Avoid crowds, people with cold or flu and allergens
CAUSE

allergens such as house dust, certain foods or chemicals cause chronic rhinitis
HEALTH EDUCATION
It is contagious for the first two to three days if of viral origin, therefore the patient should sneeze in a tissue
For allergic rhinitis the patient should keep notes of activities, items, allergen or periods/ seasons that trigger attacks and avoid these

Blow the nose clean before administering nasal decongestant drops, sprays or any other instillation
