Side effects
- Skin: dermatitis, pruritus, exfoliative dermatitis, allergic reactions etc.
- GI: stomatitis, gingivitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, colitis, diarrhea, etc.
- Respiratory: gold bronchitis, interstitial pneumonitis
- Hema: bone marrow depression
- GU: vaginitis, nephrotic syndrome

- Any known allergy to gold
Storage conditions
- Stored in a cool dry place
- away from sunlight and moisture
Route of administration
- Administered orally with a peak of 4-6 hrs
MECHANISM OF ACTION

- Releases lysosomal enzymes leading to inhibited tissue destruction.
- Thus allowing gold salts to be suppressed and prevent some arthritis and synovitis.
