if a norman is killed and they cant find who killed them, the whole hundred will pay for it.

alot of people moved a body into the next hundred as they didnt want to pay for it

only those who could pay could hunt

for peasants it was illegal to carry hunting weapons

seen as a social crime and led to resentment. punishments included; hanging, blinding and castration.

there wasn't enough work which caused the problem

many people thought that vagabonds were lazy and brought it upon themselves

people never left the place they were born

punishments were harshand could be charged in ordinary courts

people were very superstitious

however church courts were more lenient
