Health Care System in Argentina
Public sector
The public sector includes the national and provincial ministries as well as the network of public hospitals and primary
It is composed by health care units which provide care to the poor and uninsured population.
This sector is financed with taxes and payments made by social security beneficiaries that use public health care facilities.

The social security sector or Obras Sociales (OS) covers all workers of the formal economy and their families.
Most OS operate through contracts with private providers and are financed with payroll contributions of employers and employees.
