Glucose
Hypertonic - 'not enough' glucose compared to blood (less than 4%) - taken by people who need energy but don't put on weight eg. jockey, gymnast
Isotonic - 'same' glucose as blood (8%) - taken by people who want to hydrate and maintain weight eg. footballer
Hypertonic - 'too much' glucose compared to blood (15%) doesn't hydrate but replaces energy quickly eg. athletes
Nitrates
= dilates blood vessels, increases blood to muscles, work harder
Side effects = too much O2 suddenly causes dizziness, possibly causes cancer
Electrolytes
