Grammar: Unit 2
Present simple: Positive and negative
We add -s vrbs after he, she and it, for example "She works"
For example:
I/you/we/they (I work)
He/She/It (She wors)
We usuallyadd-s to the verb
but sometimes the spelling
is diferent. (works, starts)
Verbs end in consonant add -y:
Change -y to -i then add -es
(studies, tries)
Verb ends in -sh,-ch,-x,-ss:
Add -es
We make present simple negative sentences with don't and doesn't.
The negative of I see and She lives is:
I don't see and She doesn't lives.
I/you/we/they: They don't work
He/she/it: She doesn't work
Present simple: question and
short answers
We start present simple yes/no
questions with "Do" and "Does".
Do you like your history class?
Does he give you lots of homework?
There's no -s on the main verb after Does.
I/you/we/they:
Do you study?
Yes I do or No I don't
He/she/it:
Does she work?

No she doesn't
We can also begin questions with a questions word like Where or What.
