Before going to preschool, the only language I knew was Polish, so on my first day, it was very hard to communicate with the other English-speaking children in my class. For the next couple of days, I couldn't really make many friends, and this took an emotional toll on me, however, I eventually started picking up English at a pretty fast pace, putting an end to my friend-troubles. This experience, although hard for me, helped me to gain a great advantage in life, knowing English. Being bilingual, and now tri-lingual has given me many opportunities, such as going to Southridge, and later in my life, applying to university.
