Washington stated that separate political factions would never bring upon good results.
Washington also advised against long term foreign relations and not to involve america in uneccessary actions and stay neutral
The Jay Treaty
The whiskey rebellion was protests by farmers due to whiskey tax enacted by the federal government.
Many people were refusing to pay whiskey tax during the rebellion and when protests escalated Washington sent the militia to stop the protests
Hamilton's Economic Plan
Hamilton proposed a bank of the United States which would make the economy more stable through paper currency and he proposed to expand the American economy through a mercantilist economic policy
Hamilton wanted to pay off state debts and and he wanted to raise the money for this through securities bonds
Alexander Hamilton who was the secretary of treasury was facing a huge problem which is the national debt.
The treaty eliminated british control of the western ports
Jay's treaty also solved any conflict between U.S and britain since American independence.

In the election of 1800 Thomas Jefferson ran against John Adams .
This election transferred the power to the democratic republican party.
Louisiana Purchase
Land deal between U.S and French in which the U.S acquired land west of the Mississippi river
Acquiring the land from the Louisiana Purchase increasingly made it easier to travel and trade

Barbary Pirates
John Marshall was appointed by Thomas Jefferson before he left office these were called the "midnight appointments"
John Marshall created controversy with the case Marbury vs. Madisoin
Barabary pirates seized American Merchant ships and demanded ransom
Barbary pirates actions angered Thomas jefferson and he chose to wage war against them.
Embargo Act of 1807
The embargo act prohibited American ships from trading with foreign ports.
With the embargo act jefferson wanted to emphasize to france and Britain that their trade was not needed but instead it caused economic downfall

Federalist Party
Federalists promoted a strong national government and and promoted economic growth through trade relations.
Federalist policies also endorsed the national bank which was opposed by many and they wanted trade relations with Great Britain
Democratic Republicans
The Democratic Republican was formed by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison who opposed the Hamilton's federalist party.
Democratic Republicans feared a strong national government and wanted to keep the U.S agriculture based.
Kentucky and Virginia Solutions
Kentucky and Virginia stated opposed the federal alien and sedition act stating that it was unconstitutional
In 1798 the Virginia legislature passed that state authority could determine whether the acts were unconstitutional.
XYZ Affair
Diplomatic incident between French and Great Britain which resulted in the Quasi war
U.S intervened creating the jay's treaty to neutralize the situation which angered the French and they seized American merchant ships.
War of 1812 causes and lasting impact
One cause was an embargo act America placed and also because of British impressment on to American troops
The war ensured that there was a peace treaty between America and Britain

A meeting of the Federalist party that addressed the concerns of the war of 1812
After a restrictive embargo act was signed the british blockaded america's eastern coastline which started the war leading into the convention of hartford
Treaty of Ghent
The treaty of ghent was signed in order to end the war of 1812
the U.S was accepted as a national entity and ensured britian would not receive any land.
Monroe Doctrine
The doctrine stated that americans would not interfere with European activities as long as Europeans did not interfere with American activities.
Monroe Doctrine was a policy which opposed European colonization
