Chronic meningitis, slow growing organism that invade the membranes and fluid surrounding the brain cause chronic meningitis

Nursing management

Maintain fluid balance, prevent fluid overload and monitor input and output closely
Enhancing cerebral perfusion, assess level of consciousness and maintain quiet, calm environment
Reducing pain, administer analgesics and elevate the head of the bed to decrease ICP and reduce pain

Encourage the patient to follow the medication regimen as directed to fully eradicate the infectious agent
