LOCATION
Is a lying country that is incredibly vulnerable to flooding. It has 3 main rivers (the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghan) and is vulnerable to coastal flooding as it is low lying and flat
CAUSES
-Experience heavy monsoon rains, especially over the highlands.
-Tropical storms bring heavy rains and coastal flooding.
-Above an average & long period of heavy rain which caused all 3 rivers to have their peak flow at the same time

In August 2004 , heavy rains began having consequences
Half of Bangladesh is 6 metres below sea level, making most of the country a large drainage basin
In May and June of 2004 there was very little rain, which left the ground hard and impermeable
India cut down many trees Himalayas and Bangladesh, the plant could no longer intercept the precipitation
