Goals For Dealing and Copping with Change
My Team
When I first got my team, I believe that my team was the weakest team among all three teams. The blue team is the strongest team because they have the most athletic people.
Although my team may be a weaker team, I am still determined that our team will do well because we are all motivated to win. I believe that knowing that we are the weakest team, this gives us more motivation to do our best and win.
I believe that my team can win through strategy rather than being the most athletic.
Captain
Making decisions based on scenarios
When I had to chose which team I wanted to deduct their points, I chose the team that had the most points which was the Blue Team. However, I feel that since I chose the Blue Team next time the Blue Team will take revenge on us.
As a captain I want to motivate my team and to encourage them so that we can perform better and they feel important to the team
Becoming the captain
At the same time I didn't really want to be captain because I wouldn't be able to be traded out of my team
Everyone in my team voted for me to be captain, I was glad that my team wanted to me to be captain and "lead" the team.
Losing
The first touch rugby game we played was against the blue team and we lost 0-2. Although we loss the game, we took this game as an opportunity to learn from our mistakes and find areas of where we went wrong and how to improve for the game. We also developed a strategy which improved our defense for the next games.
Touch Rugby
Strategy
Having a strategy was a big area that has helped our team to play better and after developing our strategy we didn't loose any games we only tied 0-0.
Our strategy was to divide the field into 6 columns and each person would always stay in their column so that it was easier for us to touch the people before they come closer to the goal.
This strategy improved our defense because we were able to tag the opposing team more easily and frequently which resulted in a hand over.
At first I really struggled understanding the rules of the game, but after playing my first game I was able to better understand how the game works and help explain it to my other team mates who were confused.
I also watched some youtube videos of touch rugby which helped me have a better understanding of the game and gave me some inspiration for our team strategy.
Netball
Before our first Netball class, Matthew sent us a video with the basic rules of netball. This helped my team to be more familiar with the sport before coming into the class so that we would be able to follow the rules of the game more easily.
Positions
We worked together as a team to come up with our positions based on our strengths. Since Matthew is tall we made sure that he was the Goal Attacker so that he could score goals but at the same time block people/intercept.
I believe that changing from touch rugby to netball was a very easy change for my team. We were able to adapt very quickly because we already knew the rules of the game and we watched how the games on YouTube.
