Respiratory System
-
External Respiration
Pulmonary gas exchange
O2 is being taken into the blood that flows through the pulmonary circuit to be distributed by systemic arteries to body tissues.
-
-
-
Internal Respiration
At tissues
Gases are being exchanged . O2 is being dropped off so that the tissues can use it for cellular respiration . CO2 is being picked up from the tissues by the blood so that it can be delivered to the lungs and expired.

-
Haldane Effect
-
the lower the PO2, the more CO2 can bind to hemoglobin and form carbaminohemoglobin
Bohr Effect
At tissues, as more CO2 enter blood, more O2 dissociates from hemoglobin, more CO2 can bind to hemoglobin and form carbaminohemoglobin
