        Indication: per endogenous insulin to
        cope with meals
        E.g. Humulin S, Actrapid
        MOA: fast onset (15-30m, peak 2-4h, last 8h)
        to deal with spikes at planned meals
      - Intermediate acting
        Indication: mimic basal insulin sec through day
        E.g. Humulin I, Insulatard
        MOA: onset 1-2h, peak 4-12h, last 24h
        mimic basal levels throughout day
      - Rapid acting
        Indication: mealtime use
        E.g. Novorapid, Humalog (insulin lispro, aspart)
        MOA: rapid onset of action to deal with
        spike in blood glucose after a meal
      - Long acting
        Indication: preventing night dips
        E.g. Levemir, Lantus (insulin detemir, glargine)
        MOA: Long onset, tide insulin levels over during the night
      - Premixed preps
        Indication: short and long acting together
        E.g. Novomix 30
    - - Biphasic (OD, BD, TDS)
        Indication: 2L
        MOA: short acting and intermediate acting premixed;
        useful if regular lifestyle
      - Continuous infusion
        Indication: 3L (hypos, unresponsive tx)
        MOA: programmable pump and insulin resevoir, gives continueous SC insulin and monitors levels
      - Basal bolus (QDS)
        Indication: 1L starting
        MOA: bolus pre-meals (ultra fast), and bedtime long acting bolus regimen; separate injections; good for flexible lifestype
