Sila = 3) Right Speech - Power of speech is a unique gift of man that helps to bring harmony and wisdom when used correctly (In Indian Philosophy, speech occupies a seperate plane of existence and can influence/manipulate the physical world.) If it is abused, it can bring pain, deceit, ignorance and delusion. Right Speech involves controlling the abuse of speech and cultivating its best potentials due to a realisation of how speech affects others (No telling lies, no aggressive language, only talk dharma/the truth, gentle and sensible language that cultivates spiritual development etc.) 4) Right Action - Avoiding actions that damage ourselves and others (Akusala) and performing actions that improve our sense of self, contribute to a healthy society via dana and lay the foundations for mental development and wisdom (Kusala). This involves following the pancha sila 5) Right Livelihood - Person should become a useful, productive citizen who contributes to his/her own welfare and that of others, without causing harm, and bringing about social harmony and economic progress. Specifically, one should not trade in poisons, human beings, intoxicating substances, weapons and flesh. Buddhists also avoid occupations of soldiering, fishing, hunting, according to ahimsa and teach against cunning & persuasive practices (cheating + gambling)
