These standards apply to concepts about " Time , continuity and change " and " Science , Technology and society. "
Key concepts : Time , change , the continuity of life , the past and methods of historian.

Time: Children's time can differ to those of an adult which can be conventional rather than intuitive. Children don't have the necessary conception of time and how to manage it.
Routine : To apply daily routine can increase children's ability to develop time duration. Children will get the concept of creating their own routines.When using routines , stories and time words regarding time will increase their ability to understand the concept of time.
Measuring time : Children have the correct concept of time at the age of 8 -9 years old. Using time resources will increase a further concept of time. (eg. stopwatches , clocks , hour glass and alarm clocks.)
The passage of time : Using history can improve the sense of passage of time. Children learn best using self-experienced situations (eg. a time line of their life's). Asking time related questions also improves the sense of passage of time.

The family : Children should learn the history of their people and families. Children should ask parents to tell them about their family history.
Intergenerational contacts : The background of their families can only continue if there are enough living generations. Children can learn history from their grandparents or someone elderly.
Traditions : Children can understand their cultures and traditions once they celebrate them. (eg. Christmas , Easter etc.)
Cultural universals : Foods , transport , clothing , shelters and holidays can be seen as cultural universals.

Questions and identifying problems : Children should identify their own problems and ask questions regarding further inquiry.

Observe the data : Children should observe data carefully to truly understand , teacher could asks questions regarding this data.
Analysing the information : Children can make sense of the information gathered and create a understand method for themselves.

Change : Children need to learn the ability to adapt and accept the concept change. Children need to accept that change is continuous and now , change can affect their life's in different ways and change can be understood by others if it held record.
School : The school environment can change repeatedly (eg. paint , move of classrooms , redecorating.)
Neighbourhood : Children can notice changes in their community eg. new buildings , new shops , new people etc.
Nature : Children will also notice a change in nature. Children will easily notice change in the seasons. Children can observe the change of a tree over a few months.
Children : Children can observe their friends and see a change in the way they celebrate birthdays , eat certain foods , behave and in the way they look.

People : Those nearest to the child can share their personal experiences from the past. They can create their own timeline and learn the concept of past.
Artefacts : Our senses have the biggest influence regarding the difference between now and then. (eg. visiting museums.)
Photographs : Photos from the past can increase children's curiosity.Children will be able to compare and contrast between past and present. Art works can show them the different environments then and now.
Narratives : Stories and myths increases children's interest and then they create an imagination of the past and the situation that possibly could take place.
