TO CONVERT MOTION
ROTARY MOTION
PULLEYS WITH BELTS
The are two pulleys or wheels that are a certain distanceapart.
Their axles are parallel and they rotate simultaneously because of the belt.
The rotation of ine axle is transmitted to the other via the connected pulleys.
WORM GEAR
This is a screw that moves a helica cogwheel which is set perpendicular to the screw.
Each time the screw rotates the gear moves forward as many teethas grooves in the screw (normlly a small number, 1,2 or 3)
Thisis used to reduce velocitty as well as serving as a braking system.
FRICTION DRIVE
This is made up of two or morewheels that are in the contact.
Wheel (1) is called the primary drive wheel. when it moves, it turns or drives the output wheel (2), causing it to move as well.

LINEAR MOTION
LEVERS
A lever is a rigid bar is used with a point of support or a fulcrum. The mechanical force or effort is applied on one end of the lever, F, with the aim of counteracting the resistance or load, R, which acts on the other end of the lever.
PULLEYS
A fixed pulley is a wheel taht has a groove for a rope, chain or belt to go round it. It rotates around an axle that is fixed to an immobile surface.

ROTARY TO RECIPROCATING
CAM
This is basically a rotating shape that pushes a 'follower' - as it moves.
We can change the shape that are more os less poointed to produce more complex movements:
Various jumps per rotation.
Slight elevations.
Brusque falls.
Acam transforms rotary motion into reciprocating motion in the follower or bar. This is touched and moved by the edge of the cam when it rotates.
A set of cams fixed on the same axle is caled a camshaft.
CRANK-LINK-SLIDER
This is composed of a crank and a rod called a connecting rod or link.
This rod has articulated joints at eache end - one is connected to the crank and the other to the slider.
The slider outputs reciprocating motion.
ROTARY TO LINEAR
RACK AND PINION
This uses a pinion (a small cogwheel) mounted on a rack (a toothed belt or bar).
Whn the pinion rotates, the rack advances in a linear motion.
NUT AND BOLT
This consits of a bolt or threaded bar and a nut that has the same interior diameter as the diameter of the bolt.
If the bolt rotates and the nut can't turn, the nut moves in a linear motion along the threaded axle.
In the machines, it is called the mechanism of the grouping of its components that are mobile and are linked to each other through different kinds of unions; this has that said structure can transmit forces and movements. The mechanism is responsible for allowing such transmission.
