algebraic equation: A mathematical equation which consists of variables, constants etc. that represents a less complicated answer.
algebraic expression: a mathematical phrase that can contain ordinary numbers, variables and operators.
constraints: a condition of an optimization problem that the solution must satisfy.
y-axis: the vertical axis on a coordinate plane.
x-axis: the horizontal axis on a coordinate plane.
variable: a letter or symbol used in place of an unknown number.
dependent variable: a variable thats value depends on another variable.
equivalent: equal in value.
independent variable: a variable thats value isnt dependent on another variable.
horizontal axis: the x axis on a coordinate plane.
operation: one of the four symbols that tell you how the numbers in your equation need to interact.
solve: the process of di
scovering the answer to an equation.
input: the number or numbers that determine the output.
output: the answer to an equation etc. that is determined by the input.
solution: the number that will make the equation true.
inequality: An inequality says that two values are not equal.
line graph: a type of chart which displays information as a series of data points called 'markers' connected by straight line segments.
number line: a line on which numbers are marked at intervals
like terms: terms whose variables and their exponents are the same.
tape diagram: visual models that use rectangles to represent the parts of a ratio.
equivalent ratio: two ratios that express the same relationship between numbers.
independent variable: a variable whose variation does not depend on that of another
inverse operation: opposite operations that undo each other.
