The king arrives at midday to confront the goblin because the goblin is weaker during the day. On the outside the house looks normal, but once inside, the king sees the blood and remains of deceased people. The goblin is startled, not expecting someone to arrive at his hiding place. He battles the goblin with an intense fire in his heart because the goblin has killed his son. The battle rages and the strong able bodied king is exhausted and battered, but he knows he can't give up.
