Close Reading:The three levels of Reading for "Surviving Alone
Level 1
1) Amber had multiple injuries just in one fall which I found shocking.2) She was blowing a whistle in the middle of nowhere with no people around to hear her.3)I found the hallucinations weird because of the way she saw it.
1)Why was she blowing a whistle with nobody in the middle of nowhere? 2) Why did the rescue team not be able to get her in the spot that she was saw in.
"Surviving Alone"is about Amber Kohnhorst who goes on a hike in Utah , but not knowing where she is going. She needs up falling , and waking up to some injuries , When rescuers come to find her they came not find her, but they eventually find her.
The Main Idea is about a women who goes on a hike in Utah. And she got lost in the Arizona desert.

Second Read.
The theme in "Surviving Alone" is always know where you are going before you go somewhere because you can be in danger
The Conflict in this story would be Man v. Self because the internal conflict in her body would not let her climb the mountain to get to safety.
Defeated.
The author's purpose is to inform us about the dangers in the desert.
Third Read.
2) Amber was not. expecting that big jump that injured her. The story says that they were just a 10 foot jump but then the 30 foot jump that hurt her.
3) She was not planning to stay the night when it was starting to get dark after she had fell down the cliff. It says that she inly had a bottle of water to survive the journey.
1) Amber KohnHorst was not expecting to be trapped in the desert. It says in the story that it was a very easy hike up there on the mountain and that it should be easy coming back.
This text relates to other text I've read cause like Hatchet because amber got hurt like Brian.
This can relate to my life because me and my cousin got lost in target and we could not find my parents.
This can relate to other peoples life because experienced and inexperienced hikers can get lost on a regular basis.
