Statistics/Data Analysis
IQR
1, 3, 4, 5, 5, 6, 7, 11 the IQR would be 6 divided by 2 equals 2.
Put the numbers in order then Find the median, Place parentheses around the numbers above and below the median. Not necessary statistically, but it makes Q1 and Q3 easier to spot.then Find Q1 and Q3 and the last step is Subtract Q1 from Q3 to find the interquartile range.
Central
median
Example: 7, 9, 12, 13, 16 (12 is the answer)
-
you will order the number from least to greatest and if there is even number on both side then you will x them off then you you have you answer but if there is to number in the middle you will divide the two number to get the answer
mode
A Example is 46777728827 you will put it in order from least to greatest like : 2467777788 and the answer is 7 because it is the most shown
-
you will put all the number in order from least to greatest and the number that is most shown is the answer
mean
-
-
you will add all the number together and then what you get your answer you will divide by how many number there are and then you will get your final answer
Box Plots
-
the median marks the mid-point of the data and is shown by the lines that divides the box into two parts.
Histograms
-
On the vertical axis place frequencies label this axis frequency On the horizontal axis, place the lower value of each interval Draw a bar extending from the lower value of the next interval
Line plots
-
a line plot is a graphical display of data along a number line with X's or dots that record this data
-
Range
range is the distance between the lowest and the highest values the lowest value is 3, and the highest is 9, so the range is 9 − 3 = 6. Range can also mean all the output values of a function.
4, 6, 9, 3, 7, 9-3 so the range is 6
