Example: If your set of numbers is 3,3,4,6, you first find the mean of those. The mean is 4. Then, find the difference between the mean, 4, and all the numbers in the set. So, you would find 4-3, 4-3,4-4, and 6-4. All of the differences added up equals 4. Then, divided four by how many numbers there are, which is 4. So, 4 divided by 4 = 1. 1 is the MAD.
