Bill the Bully

Challenging Behavior

Bill is a student at our small college and a former police officer. Due to his former profession, size and overall demeanor, Bill has been intimidating other students in the class to give him their notes. Whether he means to or not, Bill is having an adverse affect on the learning environment and the other students' sense of safety.

This will be especially important if and when we talk one on one with the student to discuss their behavior and how it's affecting the rest of the class, and if he continues to display such intimidation going forward.

Non-Verbal Cues & Signals

Teach Conflict Resolution Skills

Response To Intervention (RTI)

Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA)

Student Learning Style Survey to assess where Bill struggles and why, especially in terms of his note-taking in class. If this is an academic issue, then we can curtail it before it continues on as a behavioral issue.

Peer tutoring

Behavior contract

Social stories

Behavior & Intervention Tracking Form to see how Bill's behavior is progressing and if he is still bothering students into giving him their notes.
