Taking a break/frequent breaks
- This could help Rolando take some time out and avoid situations where he may get angry and also give him the opportunity to stop and think.
Speak in a calm and neutral tone
- If Rolando is easily angered, then this is vital to avoid escalate the situation. It also could help diffuse potential explosive situations. This is important considering Rolando needs to be able to trust you so employing phrases such as "I would like" / "could you" as opposed to "you have to".
Positive Praise - Acknowledge Positive Behaviour
- Important to acknowledge Rolando is doing well and for him to feel seen and important. It also allows him to be able to reflect on what behaviour illicit a positive response.

Both these student suffer from emotional management issues. However, Jake' problems are more self esteem based whereas Rolando has been shaped by very tough and unfortunate experiences in life. Therefore, some of the approaches used overlap and others differ.
