Computers use binary because 1 and 0 are the only numbers a computer understands
Everything you put into a computer will be converted into binary.
Images are also made up of 1 and 0
Bit and Bytes
0 or 1 is one bit ( a binary digit)
1024 Bytes is 1 Kilobyte
8 bits is one byte
4 bits is one nibble
1024 Kilobytes=1 Megabyte
1024 Megabytes=1 Gigabyte
1024 Gigabytes= 1 Terabyte
Sound
sound is converted into waves
There are two different types of waves; digital and analogue
Digital sound is sound that has been recorded onto a computer
Analogue is sound which changes continuously
