Pathophysiology
Defect
ileal remenant of the vitello-intestinal duct
Contains gastric mucosa or pancreatic tissue
May secrete gastric acid, causing pain/inflammation
Mechanism
Often asymptomatic but can bleed or become infected (diverticulosis) or intussuception/volvulus etc.
