Response to Viral Infections
General Symptoms => fever, lassitude, myalgia/arthralgia

Infectious Mononucleosis
(Epstein Barr Virus = Glandular fever)
Lymphadenopathy, hepatosplenomegaly
Haematological Response
Lymphocytosis
- Blood film with virally infected B-cells and activated T cells
Morhphology on Blood film
Rund/irregular nuclei with abundantly flowing cytoplasm with darker peripheries

Clinical Features
- Thrombocytopenia (present with petechia)
- Potential for immune haemolytic anaemia (present with jaundice)
Dengue Fever
Symptoms
Sudden acute fever, severe headache, myalgia/arthralgia, petechial rash on lower limbs
Morphology
Reactive lymphoytes with eccentrically placed nucleus and basophillic cytoplasm

Reduced erythropoiesis + giant pronormoblasts
Anaemia, reticulocytopenia
