BLACK DEATH
The Black Death was Spread from the plague bacteria found in rats blood. When the fleas sucked the blood from the rats the fleas now carried the disease. When the fleas bit the humans they get infected and that's how the Black Death started.
The Black Death started in Central Asia, but ended in in Europe in 1348.
The bubonic plague was the most common form of plague in humans, the symptoms were high fevers, black spots, abdominal pain, and the chills.
SPREAD OF CHRISTIANITY
A monks job was to rewrite the bible since they were very few people who could actually read and write.
Monasteries are buildings where monks and nuns lived and worked.
The role of the churches was to teach children about Christianity. The children that they taught were nobles.
POPE VS. KING
King Henry IV was excommunicated, which means that he was exposed to the church and was sent to hell by the church.
King Henry IV didn"t have any more power over the church when we was exposed.
Pope Leo offered help and support to King Charles who had the most control at the time. Although, Pope Gregory VII didn't want the king to be able to appoint church officals.
FEUDALISM
Peasants were very different than serfs. They weren't payed to work, unlike serfs. They were always bottom on the chart.
Serrfs were in charge of the land and made sure that the crops were being grown correctly and that they're getting enough water. They are 4th on the chart.
Knights fought for their kings and queens. They faught with metal armor, swords. and a metal helmet.. They are third place in rankings.
CATHOLIC CHURCH
In Medieval England, church was apart of everyone's life. They believed in God, Heaven, and Hell. All the Catholics said that the only way to reach heaven was through church.
People got married at the church, confirmed and even got buried at the Catholic Church when they passed away.
In education, the "Learning Groups" are called guilds, and those groups didn't have very many people in it. They also had to learn to advance their social rank.
CRUSADES
There was four Holy Wars, one from 1096 to 1099, another from 1145 to 1149, a third one from 1189 to 1192, and lastly one from 1202 to 1204.
The first ever crusade continued into the second crusade because the Muslims wanted revenge against Pope Urban II.
In 1202, the Chridtisnd had enogh. They were going to take over Jerusalem themselves. It began with Pope lmontent III who declared war on the Muslims (for the fourth time).
ENGLISH LAW
On June 15, 1215, the barons and nobles confronted King John and threatened him to sign the magna carta, which he ended up doing.
There was a democracy in Europe, which means that the people decide on the laws and which things should and shouldn't be allowed.
The magna carta was a document that set limitations on taxes and laws, it's like if law school was put in a book and given to the public. The magna carta also contained 63 clauses that gave more people rights and took power away from the king.
SPANISH INQUISITION
When prince ferdinad and princess isabella got married, it wasn't for love. It was so they could combine armies and take Spain back from the Christians.
When the Christians took over Spain, the Catholic Church became corrupted. If you disobeyed their rules or disagree'd with their "facts" (even if you have proof that you statement is true) then they have full rights to throw you into a dungeon and torture you. Some even die from the torturing.
King Ferdinad II and Queen Isabelle established the Spanish Inquisition in 1478 when they were both crowned king and queen.
GEOGRAPHY OF EUROPE
In Europe, there are many different wide spread regions. Europe is known for their green hills, and it's beautiful rural areas. Their largest mountain ranges are the Scandinavian Mountains.

Most of Europe was originally covered by forests, but it has been made into many farm lands so the people can grow crops.
