Definition
Hypopituitarism is when there is no release of hormones from pituitary gland or the pituitary gland and hypothalamus has malfunctioned

Signs and Symptoms

ACTH deficiency-fatigue, Blood pressure, weight loss, depression, nausea and vomiting.
TSH deficiency-Constipation, weight gain, sensitivity to cold, decreased energy, muscle weakness or aching.
FSH & LH deficiency –In women irregular or stopped menstrual periods & infertility. In men loss of interest in sex activity, erectile dysfunction & infertility.
GH deficiency-In children short height, fat around waist & in the face, poor overall growth. Adult low energy, decreased strength, depression & decreased muscle mass.

Pathophysiology
Hypopituitarism usually involves damage to the pituitary gland, which renders it unable to produce one or more hormones in the normal manner.
