Ecosystem
Decomposers
Release the carbon of a dead
organism, back into the atmosphere
Helps give resources
Producers need carbon to produce
food, so by releasing the carbon
back into the atmosphere, it gives
the producers the resource it needs
Affects the interactions
If there were no decomposers, then the
producers wouldn’t receive as much of carbon
When it doesn’t have enough carbon, it
starts to die out since it can’t produce food
When there aren’t any producers, the
other organisms like the consumers won’t
have their food source
This proved that if there weren’t
any decomposers, all interactions
would stop since all organisms will
die out
