Consequences
- Building on greenbelt
- Lead to decline of inner city
- Communities are split and damamged as people migrate

Counter-Urbanisation
Causes
- The collapse of inner city industries resulted in large scale unemployment and a cycle of decline and deprivation in areas.
- Increase in pull factors
Positives
- Home owners benefit from increased property value
- Improved services in rural areas

- Houses prices increase so people can't afford it
- Public transport goes into decline

Urbanisation is the increase in the proportion of people who live in urban environments
The urban population has grown from 746 million in 1950 to 3.9 billion in 2014. This is 54% of the worlds population and it is predicted to rise to 66% by 2050. By 2050- China, India and Nigeria are predicted to account for 37% of the worlds urban population.
