My opinion has not changed, because i found the poem really inspiring and powerful in the first lines. And it stayed the same till the last letter.
I think my classmates would definitely like the poem because of the message it sends. The message is about the resiliency, strength, and beauty that black communities continue to show through hundreds of years of oppression and discrimination.
It is still relevant because all of us can wither as a result of external pressure. This pressure can be personal, political, and social. It might be overwhelming to experience this. However, Angelou's poem insists that we are able to "rise."
Whether on a personal or societal level, Angelou's words still inspire readers to rise above hate, pain, lies, and fear. ... These repeated words at the end of the poem give the impression that the speaker will continue rising, despite whatever new obstacles may come.
