figurative language:
hyperbole: "you may kill me by your hatefulness" the author exaggerated the event of her receiving hate from others. this helps the readers visualize each event.
simile: "but still like air I rise" the poet compared herself to air , this helps the reader visualize how she got up when others tried to bring her down.
