Berlin Wall
Germans wanted to leave because the Hungarian uprising showed that many people in Eastern Europe were impossible to fight the communists. Some left because of political reasons some left for economic reasons.
Leaving was a problem for the USSR because those who were defecting were very often highly skilled workers or well qualified managers. 1000 leaving communism meant germans fleeing communist rule for a better life.
Khrushchev's solution was insisting that Kennedy withdraw US troops from the city. On August 13, 1961 East German soldiers erected barbed wire the entire frontier between East and West Berlin.
HUNGARY,1956
The Hungarians hated communism because they no freedom of speech, the Catholic church was banned by the USSR, they feared secret police. Also, the Hungarians disliked soviets army living in their country. For example, the Russians street signs in schools and shops, pay for soviets forces to be in Hungary.
Hungarians didn't think that was fair so students came to head with huge demonstrations on October 23. Also, Hungary demanded new things like demanding a new leader, Hungarians wanted the Soviet army to leave, the last thing they demanded was to withdraw from Warsaw Pact to be neutral in the Cold War.
Khrushchev's USSR respond was going to removed the army and allow a popular Hungarian leader to take over but he could not allow Hungary to leave the Warsaw Pact.
Poland Solidarity
The problem of Poland was the polish economy was in bad shape price of food was going way up and many people has very less to afford.
The solution for them was workers began to set up trade unions which would organize strikes in order to makes changes. For example the solidarity issued its 22 demands to the government all were met.
The USSR response placed tanks and troops on the border with Poland. Solidarity was declared illegal.
Prague Spring
The opposition was in Czech because Dubcek wanted socialism with a human face. Czechs wanted less censorship more freedom of speech and a reduction in the activities of the secret police.
The Soviet Union respond by the USSR tried various method in response with Dubcek to slow him down. Troops performed public training exercises right on the Czech border.
The outcome was little violent resistance, Dubcek was remove from power, even though he expressed loyalty to communism and the Warsaw Pact

Their were many US lives one out of every 10 Americans who served in Vietnam was a casualty. For example 58,148 were killed and 304,000 wounded out of 2.7 million who served. Also, 25% percent of soldiers were drafted they did not choose to go to war.
The tet offensive was an attack by the communists that took over 100's of towns in South Vietnam. Although the US wins them back, this shows that the communists are not going to quit that war, EVER
