Step 3 - process information into the long term memory
Unlimited and we retieve information back into our working memory
Building schemas - typically new information is only stored if we can connect to prior knowledge. As a result prior knowledge is a major factor in our capacity to learn new information. The complex and interconnected the schemata the easier it is to make sence of new related information.
