Educate

Involve the patient - allow your loved one to do as much possible with the least amount of assistance
Provide choices- fewer options are better but still allow some for the patient to be comfortable in things they are choosing (outfits)
Medicate
moderate to severe treatment: memantine, NMDA antagonist
Medications for depression may also help: celexa, temeron, zoloft, wellbutrin etc.
Treatment with cholinesterase inhibitors: galantamine, rivastigmine, donepezil) - mild to moderate treatment
