because i have heard that this author writes very nice poems.
What does the title tell you about this poem
the title implies that a caged bird wants freedom and to be let out of the cage, but all it does is sing

it was hard to understand at first, but after reading it two more times, i started reading it with more patience and now i understand it very well.

it is talking about how the caged bird feels and what it wants to do in life .

the author has a negative attitude that isnt very clear. It has a sad, hopeless, and depressing atmosphere .

the purpose of the poem is to let people know that they should appreciate their freedom because not every one has that privilege .

yes the author is describing how strength of character can help overcome racism and trauma and that person is her

im not sure about her other poems but in this poem she lives with her grandmother and maya becomes a mother at the age of 16 in the course of caged bird

yes, it could be a metaphor in all, almost giving an example of what slavery was like for people of color. the caged bird is an example of slaves.

when i read the poem it made me feel hopeless because the caged bird is singing all alone and its singing about freedom . it made me feel really devastated
