Hurricanes
Hurricanes form when warm ocean water provides energy for the hurricane and causes more evaporation, making humid air and clouds. Winds then come together, forcing air upward. Winds then flow outward above the storm, allowing the air below to rise. Humid air rising makes the clouds of the storm and light wind outside of the hurricane steer it and let it grow.
Social impacts include death, injuries and homelessness.
Economic impacts include building destruction and house losses, as well as businesses and job buildings being destroyed.

Asia's Economy
The Asian Economies are really strong and they export more than they import, meaning they sell more than they buy.
The belt and road initiative is an ambitious development through China will boost its trade- Beijing believe that it will kick start "a new era of globalisation". The initiative connects China with more than 60% of the world, including pipelines and a port in Pakistan, bridges with Bangladesh and railways to Russia. The 'road' is a sea route linking China's southern coast to East Africa and the Mediterranean. The 'belt' is a series of overland corridors connecting China with Europe, via central Asia and the Middle East. India claims the initiative is just as 'smokescreen' hiding China's plan to seize the Indian Ocean.
Weaknesses of the Asian economy include population issues (the population in Japan dropped down a million between 2010 and 2015, leading to a loss in their workforce), population (protests increased dramatically in 2016), pensions (low fertility rates lead to the future generation being unable to pay for the older generation's pensions) and more.
Population Pyramids
Population pyramids that are in the shape of a pyramid usually represent a developing country, as their is a high fertility rate and a low mortality rate- meaning their are lots of children but not enough adults/ elders to look after them all. The population pyramid rarely continues after the age of 70, as the country does not have sufficient healthcare resources.
Population pyramids that are in the shape of a barrel usually represent a developed country. This means that there are more young adults than children- which means that there is a low fertility rate and a high mortality rate. This means there are not enough children to look after the elders and earn money.
One-Child Policies
China's one child policy
-
If a family had more than one child, they would be severely fined.
Exceptions were later made due to infanticide and a gender imbalance. Because the Chinese preferred males, an exception was made allowing a family to have another child if their first was a girl. the same applied if the first born was disabled, if the parents came from once-child families or if the family lived in a rural area.

Biomes
A biome is a large scale ecosystem. An ecosystem is biological community of living organisms (biotic factors such as fauna and flora) interacting with their surroundings (abiotic factors such as rocks and soil nutrients).
An Alpine Biome is a type of biome that includes snow, mountains and rocks.
Animals (fauna) that are adapted to living there include the snow leopard ( thick coat allows it to blend in and its enlarged nasal cavities allow it to breathe at high altitudes), the tahr (during winter they have a dense coat with a thick undercoat and has a multiple chambered stomach and can regurgitate its food) and the yak ( They have long outer hair and a dense underfur and use their horns to dig under snow for food). A plant that is adapted is the rhododendron, as it blooms in spring and summer to get the most sun for photosynthesis and contains a poison to stop animals from eating them.
There are plants and animals adapted to living in the Himalayas- alpine biome. Humans are also adapted, as the locals use yaks to transport heavy goods and earn money as tour guides.
