flour
Flour is stocked by a grocery clerk, sold by a grocery cashier both of whom are fulfilling different but similar vocations.
Wheat is turned into flour. Flour is transported by a company and personal to the store from a manufacturing company. So many people, so many vocations!
Wheat, grown and harvested by a farmer and his or her employees. God is working through the all the people who put in the effort to plant the wheat.
Thousands of years of domestication of wild wheat by our anscestors. Thank you anscestors for living your vocation and picking the best wild wheat to plant.

Oven
Appliances have so many parts, inventions, and materials; and so one must conclude that hundreds if not thousands of people helped make my oven. Each of them living their vocation and caring out Gods work.
Me, baking a birthday cake as symbol of love and affection for my husband and living my vocation as wife.
My Mom taught me to bake, in her vocation as Mother and a teacher.

I work as nursing assistant, which pays for some of our groceries.
The bowl, the spoon, and the cake pan are needed to form the cake, and these are all hand-me-downs from my mom when I left home. They remind me of my mother's love and her vocation.
Spoons, bowls, and cake pans are all made and sold by people who are living their vocations.

Surprise! Our friends are here to celebrate. Being a friend is a vocation. God wants people to have companionship and times of joy.

The recipe I used is from a cookbook called the Smitten Kitchen. which I purchased at Powell's books. Many of Powell's employees are fulling their vocations as purveyors and supporters of literature and the printed word.
The Smitten Kitchen was produced by a printing and publishing company and distributor which employees editors, manufactures, and countless other employees all working to produce books! Books are one the finest creations. To be involved in the creation of books is a wonderful vocation.
Deb Perleman created and wrote the recipes and essays in the Smitten Kitchen, with the help and inspiration of other cooks, bakers, and chefs . She brings happiness to countless thousands through her recipes, and perhaps her vocation is to be a vechile of God's bounty.
Is eating a vocation? A simple vocation? We all must eat everyday to stay alive. It is a role we must fulfill to live. Can God be the food we eat?
Will will eat cake!
My husband, Will, works as an industrial kitchen manager, a vocation by which keeps our family fed, and he helps feed people in our community.
