1814, Meetings were set for the borders of Europe.
1870 - 1871, France lost against Prussia, and it became the German Empire.
1892, Russia and France became allies w/ each other.
Jul. 23, 1908, Austria claims war on Serbia. Then Russia on Austria, after was Germany on Russia. Later was France on Germany, and lastly was Britain on Germany too.
1880, Europeans arrive to Africa to explore and map the continent. Welshman explores across Africa, and then started working for Leopold II. Arrived for raw materials and wanted to create a colony.
1850s, settled with ships to go up stream. Africa was slightly behind Europe in terms of weaponry.
1884 - 1885, Europeans set rules for the rest of Africa. A majority of Africa was colonized, only two places remained not colonized from European rule.

1800s, the Europeans weren't allowed to trade with Europe, couldn't learn Chinese, and weren't allowed in China. It the Europeans needed goods they paid either w/ opium or silver.
1839s, Qing didn't like the Opium trade so she made the decision to arrest people, and block trade to all those who traded with opium. They had a battle on sea with the British
1842 - 1856, Qing created treaty w/ the British. Qing had enough of British demands and seized a British smuggling ship.
1856 - 1858, second opium war started. They surrendered and forced to the second treaty, where they signed to be opened to trade with other countries. Europeans had a majority of Chinese territory.
1860, Second opium war lasted at least 12 days. it was the end of the Qing dynasty.
1600, Start date when Britain had been trading in India.
1770 - 1773, heavy taxes British merchants became rich and the Indians died b/c of lack of money and starvation.
1857- 1858, beginning of Indian Revolution, Then rebels surrender, and end the East India Company.
1919, Protesters gathered to fight, and around 1,000 people died. Still lost.
1935, Indians had right to vote. they wanted freedom if their soldiers help in WWII.
1939, WWII broke and the Indians were still under British controle.
1942 - 1948, Britain talks with Gandhi. They separate the Muslims and Hindus by religion and end up combating each other. Britain separates from India, and Muslims become the main nation of Pakistan.
