"Woman" and "You Fit into Me" ==> We recognize that a relationship is not good for us, but we stick with it; we recognize in a relationship that things are not working, but we decide to let things be; no longer will we try to satisfy others;

"Learning to Love America" ==> we may not like the place we living in, but we end up dealing with it; we have the option to change our living situations or our feelings about our lifestyle; we may not be able to change how things are on a larger scale, we can start small (i.e., think about the benefits within our families)

"Ella..." ==> "copperheaded waitress" helps us to see that the female persona is cold (emotionally)

"Phenomenal Woman" ==> "swarm around me, a hive of honeybees" helps to understand that the female persona grabs/has the men's attention; "fashion model size" helps us to understand she is not what most men have as a picture of the ideal woman.

"America" ==> "vigor flows like tides into my blood" helps us to understand that the speaker doesn't like such a feeling.
