If untreated, there is tentorial herniating and coning
There is bleeding from bridging veins between cortex and venous sinuses (these are vulnerable to deceleration injury)
Aetiology

Trauma, however the trauma is often forgotten about as it was so minor/long ago (up to 9 months)

Signs

Local neurological symptoms e.g. unequal pupils, hemiparesis. These occur >1 month after injury
