The teacher will first read the book and then go through the book and identify nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs and explain what each is. Students will return to their desk with a set of nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. They will sort the words into groups and write them in their spelling book. After that they will choose a book to read and identify the nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs in that book.
