Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant that shrinks blood vessels in the nasal passages. Dilated blood vessels can cause nasal congestion (stuffy nose).

XYLOMETAZOLINE
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Xylometazoline is a direct acting symphathomimetic amine. Xylometazoline acts on alpha-adrenergic reeptors in the nasal mucosa to produce vasoconstriction, resulting in decreased blood flow and decreased nasal congestion.
SIDE EFFECTS
Temporary burning, stinging, dryness in the nose runny nose and sneezing may occur
INDICATIONS
This medication is used for temporary relief of congestion in the nose caused by various conditions including common cold , sinusitis, hay fever and allergis
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to xylometazoline nasal drops is a contra-indication. In a addition, xylometazole nasal drops should not used if you have the following conditions. Dry rhinitis, glaucoma, post trans-sphnoidal hypophysectomy pregnan, transnasal or transoral surgery.
