Sentencing Factors
Offenders responsibility & culpability, and previous character
Dane has previous convictions of assault when he was 17 which involved another fist fight. Dane has a history of anger and violence but when he was convicted when he was 17 he was left off on a good behavior bond. To rehabilitate Dane to prevent him from having another anger filled incident again he should be sent to an Anger Management Program. Example: Teenager Counselling & Teenager Therapy Melbourne

Recommendations
Anger Management
Prior to this case Dane has also had a previous conviction of assault however was let out on a good behaviour bond without reassessment on his mental health. This situation could have potentially been avoided if Dane had gone through a mental health test to see or confirm if he has any anger management issues such as ( Better Health Channel Victoria )
To potentially prevent cases like this from happening in the future a person has been convicted off assault it should be mandatory that they're assessed and go through mental health checks to make sure they're in a normal state of mind and are not a danger to anyone or the community
