Autosomal dominant
Causes lymphatic malfunction and lower leg swelling from birth
Mutations in VEGFR3 gene
Treat with compression stockings/bandages and exercise
1st degree congenital lymphoedema
Filarial Infection
Causes elephantiasis = massive lymphoedema in the leg
Also causes massive hydroceles
Acute infection: fever, lymphadenopathy, chyluria
Transmitted by 5 genera of mosquito

Chronic non-pitting oedema due to lymphatic insufficiency
