Lavender
- wide grin on her face- fun loving, amiable, carefree, represents true nature of a child
- gestures were large and over the top, like her putting her hands on hips and her squealing and jumping in the air
- .During the beginning of Act 2, Lavender skipped onto the stage with a burst of energy.
Miss Trunchbull
Physical skills
- Played by a man- intimidation , masculine structure and behaviour
- Stiff posture and minimal movement but lively when 'provoked'.(e.g. when dancing with a ribbon)
Vocal skills
- Posh accent- humour, superiority
- strong, powerful voice- intimidation
- loud volume, high volume- intimidation, comedy
Matilda

- loud , clear, honest voice(older than she actually is)(e.g. when miss Honey asked about the times tables.
- low and deep tone, dramatic voice (suspense in story)
- soft tone, delicate voice- tragic ending
- Fast pace(e.g. when singing 'Quiet')- frustration, anger
- High pitch and lots of emphasis when saying 'Quiet'- symbolise how quiet she was everyday
- demanding, loud voice, contrasting to Miss Honey, asking her to tell the truth
Michael
Physical skills:
- slouching and sinking deep on the sofa- no energy
- facial expressions were blank, emotionless and apathetic- no imagination
vocal skills
- high pitched and loud volume voice shrieking "telly!"- negative effect of telly on a person
- Other times his voice isn't high or low, but neutral- no personality
