Makerspaces WHAT IS IT?
Is a physical location where people
gather to share resources and knowledge, work on projects, network, and build.

Sometimes referred to as a hackerspace . (associated with fields such as engineering, computer science, and graphic design)
Maker spaces is refered to “maker culture,” associated with making magazines.
How does it work?
Still primarily places
for technological experimentation, hardware development, and idea prototyping.
Makerspaces are often open for informal, unscheduled activities.

Supplies (cardboard, plastic, metal,batteries, etc..may be on hand
Certain materials and tools are emblematic of makerspaces,
such as microcontrollers called arduinos and 3D printers.
Who’s doing it?

One member-supported effort that reflects that origin is the Milwaukee. (invites the public to attend meetings.)

The emphasis is on community- provided mutual, the output from a student might be a robot.

Where is it going?
As makerspaces have become more common on campuses and have found their place in public libraries and community centers.
Makerspaces may become linked from campus
to campus, encouraging joint project collaboration.
