Nutritional Needs
Lacks fat as they are high in water. Avocado's are the exception but they contain polyunsaturated fats.
Citrus fruit has vitamin C. Red and orange fruit has vitamin A. Contain varying amounts of vitamin B.
Carbohydrates: Sugar, Starch and Fibre. Starch in unripe fruit. Sugar in ripe fruit. Fibre in the skins of fruit. Pectin* in High amounts in certain fruits e.g. apples
Minerals: Bananas has potassium; Fruit contain calcium. Dark fruit e.g. blackberries has non-haem iron.
