Biomimicry (fostering innovation & sustainability) as a driver for conservation.
Definitions
Conservation Psychology:
Study of the reciprocal relationships between humans and nature with a particular focus on how to encourage conservation of the natural world
Conservation Biology:
management of nature and of Earth Biodiversity with the aim of protecting species their habitats and ecosystems from excess rates of extinction and the erosion of biotic interactions.
BMs potential to be a source of innovation for business, while bridging the natural world to human challenges. Zoos acting as microcosms of the natural world and a house of expertise and knowledge thus becoming incubators for innovation and tech transfer to advance BM. Biomimicry as a incentive for an industrial audience perhaps even a collaborative relationship, corporate participants gaining insight into their tech/sci issues and environmental aspects behind these and how these are connected to social issues. This connection could possibly advance to conservation action or pro-environmental behavior either on an individual or group level.

Assessing "creativity, innovation and connection to nature" by practicing biomimicry in the outdoors (Field Trip In Natural Environments (FiNE) Framework. Morag ) & Tal T 2012.
The importance of local informal institutions (zoos, field station , museums) for bio inspired innovation, acting as microcosms for the natural world. Everyone can do biomimicry without paying for 3.8s $40,000 trips to AFRICA.
Can Biomimicry be the link to conserve species that are most in need for conservation action but are not flagship species: conservation through inspiring functionality (slime mold / hag fish)..
Biomimicry Methodology out there specific for sustainable Design: Test these methodologies & tools at JMS: could collaborate with Fayemi & Kristina..... Still need to know how to define a prob in a way to look for specific bio models and to define it is such a way for a sustainable design process (so maybe I focus on the front end of process) - Tool & Methods for Prob Definition & identify Bio models - and then tools for effective exploration of bio models and concepts within a zoo environment.

Behvaiour change for sustinability in corporate environments driven from upper management and business strategies etc - could biomimicry be an exciting and innovative drive for R&D to drive pro environmental behaviour in what and how they create.
